ARRESTED Lawton Semi Thief

Todd Lerch, 51 was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a report of the stolen semi being spotted in LeMars. The owner of the truck then spotted and followed the truck. He contacted Law Enforcement who caught up with the truck and Lerch on Hwy 75 in the Utility Trailer parking lot. Lerch was arrested and booked into the Woodbury County Jail where he's charged with Theft 1st and No Drivers License he's being held on $5000 Bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 22nd, 2016.


Previous
Fauth Transportation reported a semi stolen from their shop in Lawton Iowa over the weekend. The truck was last seen at the shop on 7/10/16 at 7:30 and was noticed missing at 1:30PM, it's believed to be stolen between 8:00 and 10:00AM.

The truck was spotted in Le Mars Iowa about 9:30AM on 7/11/16 when it was suspected of trying to steal a cattle trailer, when confronted the driver described as a White Male with long scraggly hair, bald on top and looks homeless, took off.

The truck is a 2000 Peterbilt 379 Unit #3024 and Iowa Plate Number VA8752
