Gas reported from the mixing of chemicals at Dunes Surgical Hospital

North Sioux City Fire Rescue responded to Dunes Surgical Hospital about 12:30PM on Friday for reports of a yellow gas from chemicals that were mixed.

Siouxland News reported that only half of the building, that had no patients was affected and that it was a result of cleaning chemicals that got mixed. Siouxland Paramedics and North Sioux City Fire transported eight people, 1 a firefighter to the hospital throughout the day for breathing issues related to the gas.

Crews remained on the scene for most of the afternoon.
