Eluding suspect arrested on multiple charges

Approximately 4:40AM on Friday Morning officers attempted to stop a stolen 2002 Tan Nissan Altima in the area of 16th and Douglas. The driver of the vehicle did not stop.

Police continued to pursue. The driver of the vehicle led police up to 18th Street, over to Gillman Terrance, up to 21st Street and then ending up on Hamilton Blvd where the vehicle went Southbound on Hamilton before cutting back over to Grandview where police lost sight of the vehicle.

Police continued to search the area, talking to witnesses and gathering evidence, including security camera footage. The vehicle was occupied by 2 males one described as Hispanic with a white tank top, long dark shorts, black shoes and white socks. The other male with a black hat, black jeans, and white shoes. The vehicle a Tan Nissan Altima with missing door handles and stolen license plates. 

Nearly 24 hours after the chase ended police spotted the same vehicle and one of their suspects in the area of 6th and Jennings Streets. Police arrested 21-year-old Juanito Gonzales on multiple charges including Theft 2nd, Theft 3rd, Eluding, Reckless Driving, Driving While Barred and 2 Counts of Operating without Owners Consent. Gonzales is being held on $20,300 Bond in the Woodbury County Jail with his next court appearance scheduled for October 5th at 9:00AM
