Man charged after billing State for services he didnt provide

In June of 2016 Iowa Medicaid Fraud Control Unit opened an investigation against an Employee of Transitional Services of Iowa after receiving information from TSI that there were concerns about billing practices of an employee.



The investigation uncovered multiple billings for Behavioral Health Intervention Services by Robert Conytsil Wooten. According to court documents Wooten created documentation and billed BHIS services for 3 juveniles between November 15, 2015 and May 31, 2016.

12 hours were billed totaling $1048.44 that the investigator found did not take place using attendance records of the Juveniles and other evidence.

Robert Wooten was arrested and charged with Fraudulent Practice 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony and Tampering with Records, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. He posted a $5000 Bond.
