Man assaults workers at Select Mart when asked to leave

Just after Midnight Monday workers asked a person previously banned from the Select Mart at 14th and Jackson to leave.

Court documents say that 18-year-old Dontaiven Drapeaux began damaging displays and merchandise, when staff tried to prevent him from doing so he assaulted them. Police arrested Drapeaux who is charged with 2 counts of serious assault and 1 count of criminal mischief.

Just after Midnight, Monday Morning Police responded to an alarm at the Select Mart at 14th and Jackson in Sioux City.

Responding officers indicated the incident was an assault and not a robbery. Siouxland Paramedics and Sioux City Fire were called to the scene for injuries.
