A release from Sioux County Sheriff's Department says a 2010 Jeep Patriot, driven by 18-year-old Lauren Pottebaum was traveling East on 400th Street when she struck a Feed Trailer being backed into a hog confinement pulled by a 2004 Freightliner driven by 36-year-old Brandon Hofland.

Pottebaum was trapped in her vehicle and required extracation by the Orange City Fire Department. She was transported to Orange City Hospital and then flown to Mercy Medical Center by Mercy Air Care.

The release says the accident is still under investigation. The trailer sustained approximately $20,000 in damage and the Jeep approximately $18,000. It does not mention the condition of Pottebaum.
