Early morning crash of semi hauling corn syrup North of Le Mars

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 19th Plymouth County Deputies, Le Mars Police Department, Le Mars Fire, and Le Mars Ambulance responded to a 911 call of an overturned semi.

A release from Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office says the crash was located in the North ditch on the Highway 75 bypass next to Fedders Marine and RV near the Highway 75 and 60 interchange. The driver of the semi had to be extracted by Le Mars Fire Rescue and was transported with what Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office are calling apparent minor injuries.

The release says that the driver was unable to locate the brake and went through the stop sign on the off ramp crossed Highway 75 and went into the ditch. The trailer a tanker was loaded with Corn Syrup. The investigation is ongoing.
