Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office in a release said that a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle South of Salix when the vehicle took off and eluded deputies until becoming disabled in a bean field.

Court Documents show Daniel Lester Frye, 44 was arrested and booked into the Woodbury County Jail charged with possession with the intent to deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, reckless driving, speeding, Failure to stop at a stop sign and Criminal Mischief. Daniel Lester Frye is being held on $20,000 Bond.
These charges stem from deputies responding to a call Friday about 10:00 am on August, 11th at WinnaVegas Inn in Sloan Iowa for reports that property that was left in a room rented by Frye. When deputies arrived they identified what appeared to be, and later tested positive for Methamphetamine. While the deputy was there Frye returned but left again when he spotted the deputy. Frye fled the area in his vehicle and was spotted a short time later on Interstate 29.
Frye was driving a red 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt. When deputies attempted a traffic stop on Interstate 29 South of Salix the vehicle fled Northbound until taking the Port Neal exit and then went East and into a cornfield and then into a bean field where the vehicle became disabled. Two occupants of the vehicle were located a short time later near K45 and 250th St., according to the release.
