Threats by text message to Sioux City School District parent have many fearful

Threatening text messages from 818-275-6848 received by a parent of Sioux City Community School District student. Similar messages were sent to parents in Johnston School District on Monday night from the same number.

Just as Johnston School District and authorities determined, Sioux City Community School District and local authorities determined there is no known credible threat and school will continue as scheduled Wednesday.

A statement from the School District says they value the safety and security of students and will continue to work with the police department if further reports come in. Anyone who receives threatening messages are asked to report it to the Sioux City Police Department.
