South Sioux City Teen shot in suspected robbery Wednesday Evening Police search for suspect

A release from South Sioux City Police says that at 10:37 pm on Wednesday, October 11th police responded to reports of a shooting in the 300 Block of East 16th Street.

A witness reported that someone had been shot with a BB Gun. It was later determined the victim of the shooting had been shot by a small caliber gun and sustained an injury to his right leg. The victim, an 18-year-old male was transported to Mercy Medical Center with non-life--threatening injuries.

The suspect is believed to be a Hispanic male and police believe robbery to be the motive. If you have any information about this incident or the suspect you're asked to contact South Sioux City Police Investigations at 402-494-7555
