Fatal crash near L20 and E16 in Monona County Under investigation

Emergency crews from Oto, Smithland, Woodbury County, Mercy Air Care, Iowa State Patrol and Monona County Sheriff's office responded to a single vehicle rollover crash with ejection about 11:30 pm on Saturday, December 9th near Ticonic in Monona County.


Iowa State Patrol says that a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 31-year-old Matthew Davis, the only occupant, was northbound on L20 and lost control, entering the dich, rolling seveal time. Davis was ejected from the vehicle, the report says he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash was discovered by a passing vehicle and is still under investigation.
