2 hospitalized after Burbank SD house fire pets perish home a total loss

A family member tells Siouxland Scanner that five people live at the home located at 46890 N Railroad St, in Burbank. Four were home at the time of the fire 2 received burn injuries and were transported to a Vermillion hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.



The fire broke out shortly before 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 4th. Firefighters from Vermillion and Elk Point spent hours battling the blaze which destroyed the home. 3 pets, 2 dogs, and a cat perished in the fire. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

Red Cross is assisting the family who only has insurance for the belonging in the home and not the home itself. A GoFundMe has been setup at https://www.gofundme.com/brown-family-house-fire-recovery
