Dakota City Fire Department along with South Sioux City Fire responded to a mobile home fire at Siouxland Estates about 7:10 pm on Friday, June 1st.
Initial reports from the first deputy on scene indicated smoke and fire was visible. The fire was quickly extinguished by responding firefighters but had already caused extensive damage to the trailer. Dakota City Fire Chief Clint Rasmussen says the fire appears to have started in the rear of the trailer. Nobody was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
The fire was reported by a neighbor and remains under investigation.
