At about 2:40am on Thursday Sioux City Police attempted to stop a Blue Unplated Dodge Durango near 27th and Center St. The driver of the vehicle took off from Officers ignoring traffic laws, reaching speeds of over 70mph, driving through yards on the West Side of Sioux City, which ended Near Lacey and John Street in some type of accident with the suspect described as a heavy-set male taking off on foot at about 2:50am. Officers and K9's unsuccessfully searched the area and eventually had the vehicle towed and other evidence collected.

As officers from Sioux City Police and Deputies  from Woodbury County Sheriff were responding to assist in the pursuit deputies came across another vehicle near W. 17th and John where 3 or 4 individuals took off running. It wasn't clear if they were attempting to stop the vehicles or if the individuals in the vehicle just assumed the police presence was for them. 3 of the suspects were quickly captured and they continued searching for a 4th possible suspect. It sounded as if that car was also towed.
