Morningside pursuit ends at IHOP

Woodbury County Sheriff’s deputies noticed a 2013 Dodge Avenger near KUM & GO about 1:08AM on Monday morning, matching the description of a Stop and Hold notice from Plymouth County for Operating without Owners Concent, no longer has permission to have it.

When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle the vehicles operator went through the library parking lot, turned off its lights and took off running numerous stop signs and reaching speeds of 80 MPH on the following streets; S Royce, Peters, S Paxton, S Rustin, Laurel, Vine, S Alice, Washington, Dodge, Marshal, S Irene,  and Leech in Morningside neighborhoods.

The pursuit moved down to Gordon Drive where the suspect went the wrong way until having an accident and continuing on to Leech and Floyd. Shortly after the deputy mentioned his patrol car had sustained damage. Moments later the pursuit ended in the IHOP parking lot where they took one person into custody at 1:21AM. They called for a Tow. Iowa State Patrol was on scene and took the accident report for the squad car.

KENNETH JOHN AZURE was arrested and booked into Woodbury County Jail on related charges.
