Late Wednesday Robbery reported as a kidnapping near 27th and Virginia in Sioux City

A release from Sioux City Police says they attempted to stop a vehcile in the 2700 Block of Jennings Street at 11:54 pm on Wednesday, December 6th. A gun was thrown from the vehicle and the vehicle was able to elude officers.

An individual reported to officers that a home was robbed near 27th and Virginia Streets where 3 people were present. One reported they had been kidnapped and two others injured, one requiring medical attention. The one who had been kidnapped said they were able to escape when officers attempted to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle was later located unoccupied near 26th and Douglas Streets. No suspects have been arrested and no names are being released. The investigation is ongoing.
