Arrest made in Sioux City Westside burglaries and thefts

Sioux City Police say in a release they have been investigating a number of burglaries and thefts from the past few weeks and have made an arrest of Matthew Earl Rausch, 30 who they believe is responsible for some of these.

Some of the areas include the 200 and 300 block of South Collins, 2300 Block of West 1st, 400 Block of Cook, and the 2800 Block of West 5th.

Police say they have recovered many stolen items, many of which have been returned to their owners. The remaining stolen property is being held until it can be identified by its owners. Matthew Rausch is currently charged with 3 counts of Burglary 3rd Vehicle, 2 counts of Burglary 3rd Building, 1 count of Burglary 2nd and 1 count of Theft 2nd and is being held at the Woodbury County Jail.
