The driver of the van drove over the stop sticks deflating its front tires. The driver fled on foot and hid in a ditch between Military Road and Interstate 29 near Washington Street in North Sioux.

With the assistance of a Sioux City Police K9, the driver was located and transported to the hospital to be checked out. Once released will face charges in both Iowa and South Dakota.
