Traffic stop for speeding nets arrest for more than 5 pounds of cocaine

A Woodbury County Deputy conducted a traffic stop Sunday evening May, 5th for a vehicle speeding, 82 in a 65 posted zone on Highway 20 and Osceola near Correctionville.

The vehicle registered out of Oregon and driven by 37-year-old Jacob Rios who possessed a California drivers license. In the course of the traffic stop, Rios acted nervously and did not have answers or correct answers to questions asked by the deputy.

K9 Rico gave a positive indication to the odor of narcotics, following a search of the vehicle 5.6lbs of cocaine was located in the truck where the spare tire would go.

Jacob Rios was booked into the Woodbury County Jail charged with possession of narcotics Cocaine, speeding, no vehicle insurance, and no drug tax stamp. He's being held on $30,000 bond.
