Ray Avila arrested in Mexico on outstanding Sioux City Manslaughter warrant

US Marshalls have arrested 24-year-old Ray Avila in Jalisco Mexico on Monday evening after Mexican authorities located him on a Manslaughter Warrant out of Sioux City after an assault on 4th Street in Sioux City on July 29, 2018.

The fugitive investigation conducted by US Marshals Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of Sioux City Police, South Sioux City Police ask various tips from the community it was determined that Avila had from to Mexico following the violent assault.

The investigation was narrowed to the small town of Jalisco Mexico where Avila had familial connections and it was thought he'd been hiding since fleeing. Ray Avila will be transported back to Sioux City facing charges of involuntary manslaughter and assault causing serious injury.
