Two arrested in Ida County after Statewide Broadcast of Attempt to Locate

About 6:20 pm on Monday, November 4th Iowa State Patrol put out a broadcast that John Murphy, 27 may be traveling from Colorado to Mason City and the Drug Enforcement Agency would like a stop and hold if located.

Murphy was said to be traveling from Colorado to Mason City in a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe and have should have a large number of drugs, was believed to be involved in a shooting on November 1st and may have 2 gunshot wounds.

Just after 9:00 pm, the vehicle was spotted by an Ida County Deputy at the Travel Center in Holstein. Ida County Deputies along with Iowa State Patrol responded to the area and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle left the travel center and headed East on Highway 20. Two males and a female, as well as a child, were in the vehicle when it was stopped. Two were arrested and taken into custody.

Arrested were 27-year-old Samantha Sue Roach and 27-year-old John Daniel Murphy charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver and No Drug Tax Stamp.
