Man on Motorcycle arrested after high speed chase from Iowa State Patrol

About 2:30 pm on Wednesday an Iowa State Trooper spotted a Motorcycle speeding on D12 just North of Sioux City limits. When the trooper attempted a traffic stop the driver took off reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour.

The pursuit continued into Sioux City from the bypass and into Leeds where near Jefferson Street and Floyd Boulevard the driver laid the bike down and took off on foot. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Wesley John Verzani was captured a few minutes later and taken into custody.

Wesley John Verzani was booked into the Woodbury County Jail on charges of, Eluding, Speeding, Reckless Driving, Driving While Barred, Fraudulent Registration, No Insurance, Improper Passing, Driving Left of Center and Speeding.
