Jewely store thief arrested after short pursuit merchandise recovered

About 10:30 am Sioux City Police were responding to an alarm at Gunderson's in Sioux City where a male had left the store with a watch valued at over $20,000 when another report of a reckless driver was received. Police en route to the alarm spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop the it.

The vehicle failed to stop for police and a short pursuit through Morningside neighborhoods ensued where the suspect struck another vehicle. The suspect eventually got out and ran on foot before being taken into custody by police. The suspect Anthony Quantral Perkins, 50 of Omaha Nebraska was arrested and booked into the Woodbury County Jail.


Charges for Perkins include Theft 1st, Theft 3rd, Eluding, carrying a dangerous weapon, failure to yield, failure to stop at a stop sign, leaving the scene of an accident. He's currently being held on $21,100 bond.
