Suspect caught within minutes of reported armed robbery on Hamilton Boulevard

A release from Sioux City Police say they have arrested 43-year-old Derrick Henderson, charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree. Court Documents say that Derrick Henderson, entered the Check Into Cash with his face concealed and pressed a fake gun against the worker and demanded cash. Henderson got away with more than $13,000 in cash before being caught a few minutes and few blocks away.

Police received a call just before 6:00 pm On July 18th from Check Into Cash at 1760 Hamilton Boulevard of an armed robbery in progress. A description was given of the suspect and within minutes he was in custody.

Located on a bicycle at West 16th and Geneva Streets a male was taken into custody and transported to the police station for questioning. Police say evidence was collected and they believe the person in custody is their suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
