Man arrested after firing numerous shots in Morningside neighborhood early Wednesday

Just after 3:00 am Wednesday Sioux City Police responded to the area of the 2500 block of South Cornelia after numerous 911 calls of a man firing a gun in the back yard.

Police located Matthew A Weber, 44, who appeared to be intoxicated in the back yard of 2509 S Cornelia firing a gun. Weber was taken into custody without issue. Several firearms were seized in the course of the investigation. A neighbors garage was damaged due to the shots being fired.

Matthew A Weber was charged with Discharging Firearm in City Limits, Reckless Use of a Firearm, Possession of Marijuana, and Criminal Mischief 4th.
