About 12:20AM a Deputy with Woodbury County Sheriff’s Department was finishing a traffic stop when a vehicle nearly hit him. The driver identified as Don Duclos, was Southbound on Interstate 29 and headed towards Monona County. The Deputy gave chase as Duclos increased his speed to about 90MPH while trying to get away in a White Ford Ranger.
Duclos got off the interstate at MM120 Whiting Exit and continued to flee Deputies driving roads around Badger Lake State Wildlife Management Area. The pursuit came to and end at the intersection of Berry Avenue and K42 when Duclos lost control of his vehicle. The deputy requested Medical and Duclos was transported to Burgess Health Center in Onawa to be checked out and his vehicle towed. Duclos was later transported to Woodbury County Jail.
He was booked on charges of Felony Eluding, Reckless Driving, Operating without Owners Consent, Assault on an Officer, Failure to Stop at Stop Signs. His bond was is set at $25,000 He was placed on Hold for other Outstanding Warrants. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 2nd, 2016

Monica County Sheriff’s Department and the Iowa State Patrol assisted Woodbury County during the pursuit.
