Siouxland Scanner Launches New Website After 8 Years

After more than eight years, Siouxland Scanner is thrilled to unveil its new website. The long-awaited update addresses many issues with the previous site, which had become outdated, broken, and not user-friendly.

While the new design retains a familiar look and feel, the entire backend has been recoded to enhance security significantly. Some features now require users to be logged-in supporters. This change serves two main purposes: to protect the data on Siouxland Scanner from abuse and to provide supporters with a comprehensive resource for public safety information.

In addition to news articles, the revamped website offers a variety of public safety data, including activity logs, warrant information, and arrest data from multiple agencies. More data is being added regularly. The site also features DOT and weather cameras for the area, providing users with real-time information.

The website now includes a light and dark mode, giving users a choice in how they view the site. It also supports login via Facebook, Patreon, or Google. However, Facebook integration is currently awaiting final approval and is not yet usable. Supporters of Siouxland Scanner can log in using any of these methods. The system will automatically check the email address against the list of supporters and grant supporter-level access. Please note, there may be a delay of 6 to 12 hours from becoming a supporter for the database to update. If you need access sooner, just let us know.

Siouxland Scanner remains committed to providing the community with reliable and accessible public safety information.
