Donald Kotz says he yelled at his family to get out of the vehicle after feeling a thump when the front passenger tire ended up in a sinkhole while driving near 24th and Pierce in Sioux City Friday Morning. When he got out and found the front passenger side of the truck in the hole it scared him to death.

The cause of the sinkhole is not known but there was talk that a water main may have broke. The hole was about 2 feet deep and about 5 to 6 feet wide in each direction. City crews were on scene turning off water and assessing the situation.
