Just after 8:00 pm Friday, March 22nd Sioux City Police responded to the 3300 Block of Garretson Avenue in Sioux City after reports from a witness say a white male driving a white vehicle attempted to kidnap a 9-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl.

Police have not provided an official release on the details of what happened but sources and witnesses tell me the children had purchased slushies at Kum & Go at South Lakeport and Morningside Avenue when they were approached by a white male with tattoo's up his arm driving a white vehicle that appeared to be an HHR or PT Cruiser.

The kids were able to get away according to Facebook comments from a Witness. Police spent Friday evening retracing the steps, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.

Unverified video provided to Siouxland Scanner of the reported suspect vehicle fleeing through an alley on the 3300 Block alley between Garretson and Orleans Avenue in Sioux City's Morningside Neighborhood.
