Fight with knife interrupted by Police Officer from another city

A little after 3:00PM on Friday afternoon reports came in that there was someone with a knife and someone with a gun at La Juanita's in the 1300 Block of Pierce Street. Then a holdup alarm came in for the business. Officers quickly arrived on scene and reported the scene was under control.

A release from the Sioux City Police says that a male subject pulled a knife on another and then an off-duty unnamed Police Officer from another city intervened by pulling a gun and cuffing the man.

Sioux City Police arrested Jamal Hayes, 22 and charged him with Carrying a Weapon and Fighting, he's been booked into the Woodbury County Jail.
