Suspect flees Iowa State Patrol ends up in watery ditch

About 7:30PM on Sunday evening Iowa State Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle that then took off from them and ended up in the water in the ditch of the Interstate 29 Southbound onramp from Hamilton Blvd.

According to court documents a Trooper with the Iowa State Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Jacob Lammers, 28 for not wearing a seatbelt. Lammers attempted to elude police by accelerating through traffic and ignoring traffic laws. The Trooper used a maneuver to stop Lammers vehicle on the I29 Southbound entrance ramp. Lammers vehicle ended up disabled in the watery ditch and Lammers then fled on foot before being taken into custody.

Jacob Lammers was booked into the Woodbury County Jail on charges of Drivers License Revoked, Ignition Interlock Device, Drivers License Suspended, No Seat Belt and Eluding. His Bond is set at $2,000 and his next court appearance is scheduled for October 6th at 9:00AM
