Woman distracts clerk while accomplice steals from business

Corissa Jo Schwartz, 36

Court Documents say that on March 14th about 1:30AM Corissa Jo Schwartz, 36 was paid $100 to distract the clerk at Hampton Inn & Suites in Sioux City while her accomplice stole money from the cash drawer.

Documents say that Schwartz told the clerk she smelled gas on the 4th floor.when the clerk went to check it out Schwartz’s accomplice entered the hotel and forced open a cash drawer stealing about $300 in cash.

Schwartz then picked up the accomplice and they both fled the scene.

Schwartz was apprehended the next day after she was accused of stealing about $419 of Merchandise from Walmart and fleeing on foot in an attempt to get away from loss prevention employees.

Schwartz was apprehended about a block away and booked into the Woodbury County Jail on charges of Burglary 2nd and Theft 4th, she’s being held on $32,500 Bond and scheduled to be back in court on March 27th 2017.
