Woman sent to hospital after receiving cuts during a domestic distrubance

Lt Pat McCann with Sioux City Police says although this was originally dispatched as a stabbing further investigation has shown the victim was not stabbed but assaulted with an object that caused her to bleed.

The suspect 20-year-old Johnathan Fae Webster has been charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and is being held in the Woodbury County Jail, his next court appearance is scheduled for April 6, 2017.

Police and Rescue units responded to Hillside Park Apartments on the 2800 Block of West 4th St in Sioux City about 2:07 a.m. Monday Morning for reports of a woman being stabbed.

Scanner traffic indicated a female was stabbed multiple times. Police setup a perimeter and began searching for the suspect, who they located a short time later in another part of the apartment complex.

Police tell us there was a domestic dispute between a man and woman and the woman received stab wounds, she was transported to Mercy Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. An investigation into the incident is underway.
