Female robbery victim walks into hospital with knife wounds

About 1:38 a.m. a female walked into St Lukes Emergency Room with several knife wounds. The hospital contacted Sioux City Police. Scanner traffic indicated the robbery may have happened in the 17th and Jones area of Sioux City. Police immediately began their investigation speaking with the victim and witnesses. A short time later another person with knife wounds was reported to police.

A release from Sioux City Police says the victim was robbed and sustained the knife wounds during the robbery.

In the process of the investigation, the suspect went to Mercy Medical Center for knife wounds he sustained during the struggle with the victim.

Police arrested and charged Colten R Stroman, 21 with Robbery in the 1st Degree.

Injuries suffered to both the victim and Stroman are described as non-life threatening and have been released from the hospital.
