Update Three teens arrested on burglary charges in Sioux City

Two more teens were arrested overnight Thursday in Sioux City. 18-year-old Joseph Anthony Tapia and an unidentified 16-year-old male. Both charged with 1 count of Burglary 1st, 2 counts of Burglary 2nd, and 1 count of Theft 3rd.

Police say in a release one of two suspects in an early morning burglary on the 4500 Block of Perry Way has been arrested.

Just after 5:00 am Thursday, August 3rd officers responded to a burglary where the victim confronted the suspects and received injuries including scrapes, bruises, a concussion, and possible broken bones.

The vehicle used in the burglary was located nearby with stolen items. Police were able to identify and locate the first suspect who was brought to the police department for questioning. Jeremy Mahoney, 19. During the process of the investigation, the suspects were linked to other burglaries in the Leeds area.

Mahaney, 19 has been charged with Burglary 1st, 2 counts of Burglary 2nd, Theft 3rd and Operating without owners consent. He currently being held on $24,000 Bond.

The second suspect has been identified but has not been located.
