Just after 4:00 am on Saturday, February 3rd Sioux City Police and Fire responded to West 18th and West Streets in Sioux City for a vehicle fire.

The victim tells Siouxland Scanner they awoke to the sound of an explosion and when they looked outside their Escalade was engulfed in flames. Sioux City Fire was able to extinguish the flames but not before the fire destroyed the SUV.

Security camera footage provided by the victim shows 4 people show up in a passenger car, 3 who got out and tried to get into a Denali but it was locked. They then got into the Escalade and poured gas all over it before lighting it on fire.

Detective Lewis confirmed this incident is being investigated as arson. The victim says one suspect is likely injured, possibly with burns on their leg as they can be seen limping down the street.
