Sioux City Police with the assistance of Dakota County Sheriff's Office, Thurston County Sheriff's Office, Winnebago Police and other agencies continued to pursue the vehicle at speed in excess of 90 Miles Per Hour South on Highway 77. Stop sticks were deployed about 20 minutes into the pursuit which deflated the front tires and slowed the pursuit to speeds of about 40 miles per hour, but the driver did not stop.

The pursuit continued onto Highway 75 South of Winnebago crisscrossing gravel roads between Winnebago and Walthill before heading back North on Highway 77 when the vehicle eventually stalled after engine troubles. Police took the driver and passengers into custody.
