Man arrested blocks away after armed robbery at Iowa Auto Sales in Sioux City

Police say they responded to a report of shots fired at 4:21 pm at Iowa Auto Sales in Sioux City, the victim reported that the suspect 36-year-old Ryan Ruble held them at gunpoint and demanded the keys and title for a truck.

Ruble then forced the victim to help him move items from the vehicle he arrived in into the vehicle he was stealing from the dealership. The victim ran away and Ruble fired two shots at him. The victim was not struck. Ruble then fled the area in the truck.

Police located the stolen truck in the Casey's parking lot minutes later after it had become stuck in the snow. Ruble ignored Officers commands and was trying to free the truck from the snow bank. Officers used less lethal force firing rubber projectiles which broke out the windows. OC powder filled projectiles were then fired into the truck forcing Ruble to exit the vehicle.

Ruble suffered minor abrasions during his arrest and was treated for exposure to the OC powder at the hospital and released before being booked into the Woodbury County Jail.

Ryan John Ruble, 36 is charged with Robbery 1st, Going Armed with Intent, Intimidation with a weapon and False imprisonment.
