Geoffrey Oolman Arrested connected to two auto thefts

Geoffrey Oolman was arrested on Saturday afternoon and booked into the Plymouth County Jail on Charges of Driving without owners consent and Driving While Barred, his bond has been set at $2000.

According to a release from Plymouth County Sheriff's office, they were called to Merrill for a report of a vehicle theft about 2:00PM on Saturday. During that call, a stolen vehicle from Sioux City was recovered in the driveway of the person reporting their vehicle stolen.  The recovered vehicle was returned to it's owner.

The vehicle that was stolen from Merill was located by Orange City Police department at 105 St Paul Ave in Orange City a short time later. Deputies from Sioux County Sheriff's Office, Plymouth County Sheriff's Office, and Orange City Police went to the residence and arrested Geoffrey Dean Oolman, who was then transported to the Plymouth County Jail.

Sioux City Police will likely have additional charges for the Sioux City theft.

The vehicle was recovered in Merrill Iowa on Saturday afternoon after the suspect left it running in a driveway and stole another truck. A 1990's Ford F250, we've been told that the suspect left behind drug paraphernalia in the Dodge and later fell asleep at the wheel of the F250 while in route to Orange City.

A 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab was reportedly stolen from the parking lot of Taco Johns at 27th and Floyd Saturday about 1:00PM while 3 gentlemen were inside Taco Johns.

We've received information that another a middle-aged male broke into the truck and took off with it through an alley and once they found themselves at a dead-end drove through a yard and off a 2' retaining wall causing damage to the yard, retaining wall and the truck.

The truck was last seen heading toward Springdale.
