Willful Injury Arrest made in Sundays stabbing on Steuben Street

Police have arrested 20-year-old Osvaldo Gutierez, charged with Wilful Injury. Court Documents say that at 1:26 a.m. on Sunday, April 2nd, a fight broke out between Gutierez and another male on the 1100 Block of Steuben Street in Sioux City.


During the fight, police say Gutierez produced a knife and stabbed the other male 2 times, once in the chest and once in the abdomen. The victim suffered injuries that required surgery.

Osvaldo Gutierez, 20 was booked into the Woodbury County Jail and charged with Willful Injury, he's being held on $25,000 Bond with his next court appearance scheduled for April 7th at 9:00 a.m.

About 1:30 a.m. Sunday Morning Sioux City Police, Fire and Siouxland Paramedics responded to 11th and Steuben Streets in Sioux City for reports that a man had been stabbed 2 or 3 times in the abdomen.

Radio Traffic indicated that a male was stabbed and the suspect fled the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital, the extent of his injuries are not known at this time. Police transported witnesses to the police station to be interviewed.
