Police locate and arrest suspect shortly after assault and robbery downtown Sioux City

At 3:36 pm on Friday, June 1st Sioux City Police responded to the 500 block of Court Street for reports of a robbery. The suspect had pistol-whipped a person and stolen an undisclosed amount of money and jewelry from the victim.




Police located a person who matched the description of the suspect at Downtown Liquor a block from the robbery location. Police say the suspect 19-year-old Tre’Kel Barker was taken into custody without incident. A 9mm handgun and jewelry from the robbery were found in Barker’s possession when arrested.

Tre’Kel Barker was booked into the Woodbury County Jail charged with 1st Degree Robbery and Carrying a Weapon.
