Police received a call about a male laying injured and unresponsive near 522 4th Street in downtown Sioux City.

Upon their arrival police found a male with an apparent head injury. The suspect had already left the area and count not be located by officers.

The victim was transported to Mercy Medical Center with serious head injury.
