Just after 10:00 pm, Saturday Sioux City Police were called to the 17th and Ingleside area for reports of shots being fired. A short time later a resident returning home found a man with apparent gunshot wounds laying on the sidewalk.

Life-saving efforts were attempted but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 712-258-8477
