Three Arrested After Shots Fired and Morningside Pursuit

Around 7:20 pm the Sioux City Police Department received a 911 call from an individual stating he was being chased by two males and they were firing a gun at him.



Officers from SCPD with the assistance of the Woodbury County Sheriff's Office located the suspect vehicle. The driver attempted to allude officers at high rates of speed throughout Morningside. After the suspect vehicle ran a stop sign at S. Paxton/Transit Ave they collided with another vehicle heading westbound on Transit Ave. All suspects fled on foot but were soon taken into custody. Suspects taken into custody were:

Ejiah Dean, 18, charged with Felony Eludy, Leaving a Scene of an Accident with Injuries, No Vehicle Insurance In An Accident, Speeding, and (2) Stop Sign Violations.
Jade McDonald, 18, charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, a Class C Felony
Carlos Esquivel-Lira, 18, charge with Simple Eluding.

The driver of the vehicle hit in the accident was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. At this time no other information will be released as the investigation is on going.
