Just after 1:00 am Saturday Sioux City Police were dispatched to West 3rd and George for reports of a shooting. Officers arrived and located a male in the road suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to the hospital where they died as a result of their injuries.

About 4:30 am Sioux City Police received information about a male in the 1100 block of West 21st matching the description of the shooter. Police located and arrested a 17-year-old Dwight Charles Evans charged with Murder 1st, Wilfull Injury, Assault while Participating in a Felony and Going Armed with Intent.
