One in custody after Woodbury County North Side Pursuit

Alexander Summers, 21

Alexander Summers, 21 is charged with Felony Eluding, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Reckless Driving, No Vehicle Insurance, Speeding, Failure to have Control, Leaving the Scene of Accident, No Registration, and 6 Counts of Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign.

Court Documents state that Summers was first spotted driving 65 in a 55MPH zone without plates in a Black Grand Prix on 110th Street. He then fled the area at speeds of over 100MPH weaving in and out of traffic. Once deputies caught up to him in Sioux City and attempted a traffic stop he continued to disobey traffic laws in an attempt to get away. Deputies observed Summers driving erratically, ignoring stop signs and construction zones.

The vehicle pursuit ended when Summers hit a parked car and then a no parking sign, he then fled on foot before being captured about a block away. The investigation found that Summers was in possession of ammunition, and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was found to not have insurance or registration.

His next court appearance is scheduled for December 2nd at 9:00AM and his bail set at $15,000

Woodbury County Deputies encountered a Black 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix without plates on 110th East of Sioux City about 4:30PM Monday Afternoon.

Before the deputy could initiate a traffic stop or activate their lights the vehicle took off towards Sioux City. The vehicle was spotted again on the North Side of Sioux City and when deputies attempted to stop it the driver led them on a pursuit before crashing on the 1500 Block of Jones Street.

The driver then fled on foot before being taken into custody in the alley near 16th and Jones Streets.
