Nearly 100 mile pursuit reaching speeds exceeding 100 MPH ends in South Sioux City

A pursuit of a Stolen 2012 Chevrolet Malibu from Arkansas that started North of Omaha in Washington County Continued into Thurston County and then Dakota County on Highway 75 Tuesday Morning ended in Dakota County about 2:00AM

Spike strips were setup North of Homer Nebraska which deflated at least one front tire and slowed the pursuit from speeds of 70 to 100 MPH to speeds ranging from 15 to 40 MPH

Officers setup additional spike strips near the Kingsbury Interchange at Hwy 20 and Hwy 77/75 Interchange in South Sioux City Nebraska which enabled them to bring the pursuit to an end.

Deputies arrested 23-year-old Shelbi Nichols and 31-year-old Dusty Nash and booked them into the Dakota County Jail.

Nichols, the driver who was reported by a 911 call from the passenger to be pregnant and wouldn’t let him out of the vehicle was arrested on charges of Theft By Receiving Stolen Property, Willful Reckless Driving, Operating Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest, Open Container, Littering and Traffic Violations.

Nash, the passenger who initially gave Deputies a false name was arrested on charges of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Criminal Impersonation, Obstructing Police and Open Container.
