Arrest of man responsible for multi agency pursuit of stolen vehicle

A release from Dakota County Sheriff’s Office says that they received a call about a stolen vehicle from Sioux City being near Walmart in South Sioux City Nebraska. Deputies located the vehicle near Highway 77 and 21st Street where they attempted a traffic stop.

The vehicle took off from Dakota County Deputies and they pursued with assistance from South Sioux City Police and the Nebraska State Patrol. Spike strips were deployed near Highway 77 and Highway 35 outside Dakota City. Tires on the vehicle were deflated but the vehicle continued South on Highway 77.

The driver purposely rammed multiple Dakota County Sheriff’s Deputy vehicles in the course of the pursuit. Nebraska State Patrol initiated a PIT maneuver near Winnebago. The vehicle was disabled and the driver was taken into custody and booked into the Thurston County Jail. The driver has been identified as 21-year-old Eagleboy Freemont of Macy Nebraska.
