Man dies following 3 vehicle collision in Plymouth County Wednesday

About 11:45 am on Tuesday, October 25th multiple agencies in Plymouth County responded to a three-vehicle collision at C44 and Highway 140 between Kingsley and Remsen Iowa.

A release from Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office says that a White 2008 Dodge pickup towing a utility trailer East on C44 when it failed to stop for a stop sign at Highway 140. The pickup was then struck by a 2007 Peterbilt Semi Northbound on Highway 140 causing the utility trailer to come detached landing in the Southbound lane of Highway 140. The pickup and semi landed in the North East ditch in the intersection. The trailer was then struck by a Southbound 2015 Freightliner semi on Highway 140 causing the semi to land in the South East ditch on its side.

Kingsley and Remsen Fire Ambulance and Le Mars Ambulance along with Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Department of Transportation, Iowa State Patrol, Remsen, and Merrill Police responded to the scene.

Drivers of the pickup truck and Peterbilt were transported to Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars where they were treated and released. The driver of the 2015 Freightliner was transported by Mercy Air Care to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City where he died as a result of his injuries.
