Shoplifting suspect arrested after pursuit in stolen car and 3 hour search near Willis

Just after 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 27th South Sioux City Police were called to Wal Mart for reports of a shoplifter. While attempting to detain the suspect fled loss prevention in a white vehicle nearly striking another vehicle.





South City Police were able to locate the vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle failed to stop and eluded officers leaving town West on Highway 20. The vehicle, which was identified as stolen was located 2 miles west of Willis on Highway 20 abandoned. Multiple agencies searched the area for a few hours before the suspect was ultimately located by a local resident and taken into custody without incident.

Ayonnie Duncan was arrested and charged with Flight to Avoid Arrest, Shoplifting, Assault 3rd, Theft by receiving stolen property, Driving while revoked, and Willful Reckless Driving.
